You need:
- A certificate which entitles you to study at a German university. You will receive information in our office as to which certificate is relevant from your home country for study in Germany.
- To present your original certificate or a notarized German translation when you register. For certificates in English, French, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish you do not need a translation.
And we need: A copy of your certificate or of translation for our files.

- A copy of your school or university diploma (or translation); the original of the diploma and the notarised translation must be presented, at the latest, by the beginning of the course.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

- Requirement for admittance to a course is the presentation of a certificate entitling university admittance, which is recognised in Germany, according to the regulations of the Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen.
- The first application to a course is binding upon entry of payment of the application fee.
- Upon payment of the application fee, the General Terms and Conditions are in effect.
- The application fee will be credited to the course fee.
- Application for a directly following course is achieved by payment of the full course fee.
- Reservation for a place in a course is forfeited if the complete course fee is not received by the Deutschkurse at the latest 14 days before beginning of the course.
- Bank fees are charged solely to the participant. Upon reimbursement, the credit card fee will be deducted.
- Applications are in principle only possible for a complete course. The attendance of a part of a course can be permitted in justifiable, exceptional cases. The minimum time for a two-month course is half of the course. According to this provision, if only a part of the course is attended, a supplement to the proportional fee will be charged. (The prices are to be found in the current price list.) Course withdrawals of half-courses according to the following § 9.
- In the case of withdrawals until, at the latest, five working days before the course begins, the course fee will be reimbursed upon request, with retainment of the application fee. For later withrawals, the entire course fee will be retained. Withdrawal must be made in writing.
- If the German foreign representative confirms in writing, later than five working days before the course begins, that the relevant visa request has been rejected, the course and application fee will be reimbursed upon request.
- If a confirmation of the application has been issued for presentation to the German authorities, reimbursement can only ensue after return of the original of the confirmation.
- In the case of a withdrawal of the DSH exam until, at the latest, the day of latest enrolement the application fee will be reimbursed upon request. (The prices are to be found in the current price list.) For later withdrawals, the entire application fee will be retained.
- Trial visits to our courses beforehand are in principle not possible.
- A reduction of the course fee is received by matriculated students of the following universities: Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universität, Technische Universität München, Hochschule für Politik, Akademie der bildenden Künste, Hochschule für Musik, Hochschule München. (The prices can be found in the current price lists.)
- Assignment to the suitable course level occurs on the basis of a placement test, generally in the week before the beginning of the course. Certificates of participation at other language institutes are not substitutes for a placement test. There is no claim to attendance in a course higher than demonstrated by the test results.
- Requests will be considered if possible when assigning students to the morning and afternoon classes. However, a claim to a place in a course at a particular time does not exist. If the corresponding request cannot be granted, there is no claim to reimbursement of the fees.
- By applying, participants are obligated to attend courses regularly. Certificates confirming attendance can only be issued for courses regularly attended.
- Advancing to the next higher course level is only possible after the student has passed the relevant intermediate tests.
- The Deutschkurse offer the following course examinations:
- Final examination of Basisstufe II (Abschlussprüfung) (Reference Framework, CEFR: A2/B1)
- Final examination of Aufbaustufe (Abschlussprüfung) (Reference Framework, CEFR: B2) and
- Final examination of Qualifizierungsstufe (DSH = Abschlussprüfung) (Reference Framework, CEFR: C1).
Those entitled to take the exams are course participants who are registered in the corresponding course level at the time of the examination.
Upon request, a certificate confirming successful passing of the exam will be issued (for a fee). Certificates will not be issued for placement tests taken before attendance to a class.
