OBJECTIVE
Are you an advanced learner and want to expand or deepen your knowledge of German for professional purposes?
On the course "German for Work 2“ you will learn and practice vocabulary as well as communication situations from areas of work in different departments of a company. The aim is to enable you to overcome lingustic challenges in the area of management, administration and sales.
The course German for Work 1 is not an absolute prerequisite for attending this course.
TARGET GROUP
- Professionals or students with good general knowledge of German who already work in a German-speaking company or want to prepare themselves for work in the German economy.
- Learners who have already attended the German for Work 1 and want to expand their knowledge.
Language requirements: Level B2.2 (in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
TOPICS AND CONTENT
The course is based on the book: Buscha et al. (2016), Entscheidungen - Deutsch als Geschäfts- und Verhandlungssprache, Schubert-Verlag, ISBN: 978-3-941323-23-0 (The book is not included in the course price.)
Focus: Language for business and negotiation in the company
Topics from the following areas of German for business and negotiation will be selected:
- Work and employment / project management
- Work environment and information technology
- Product innovation
- Advertising and consumption behaviour / From product to brand
- Revenue and expenditure / modern payment transactions / taxation
- Human resources policy and management skills
- International cooperation
The focus is on the training of communicative skills required for team discussions, project management and negotiations with business partners. The course book used also offers opportunity to expand receptive competence with reading and audio texts. Various grammatical structures can also be revised.
