OBJECTIVE
In "Pronunciation Practice" you will work intensively on some of the issues related to German phonetics.
- Learn how to pronounce German sounds and intonation patterns correctly to make yourself better understood.
- Improve your listening skills: Only if you can differentiate unfamiliar sounds well, will you understand what you hear better.
TARGET GROUP
Anyone who wishes to improve their pronunciation and their listening comprehension.
Students from Level 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, who have not previously taken a pronunciation practice course.
Language requirements: Level B1 (in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
CONTENT
Typical issues in German phonetics:
- Long and short vowels
- Rounded vowels o / ö / u / ü
- Consonantal and vocalized R
- Compound letters <ng>
- Terminal devoicing
- Aspiration of plosives
- Word stress
- Intonation (prosody)
