WHAT IS THE DSH AND FOR WHOM IS IT RECOMMENDED?

The DSH examination (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang) offered by "Deutschkurse" is a standardized, accredited examination of German, recognized all over Germany. It is aimed at prospective students who require an official German language certificate for entry to their study programs at institutions of higher education in Germany.

A successfully completed DSH examination with corresponding grade is recognized by all universities in Germany; thus the DSH exam by "Deutschkurse" is open to applicants of all universities.

We recommend that you only take this examination after successfully completing Level B2 (in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

DATES 2025

• DSH for the summer semester 2025: March 8, 2025
  (Registration period: February 03 to February 21, 2025)

• DSH for the winter semester 2025/26: July 01, 2025
  (Registration period: May 27 to June 17, 2025)

• DSH for the winter semester 2025/26: September 06, 2025
  (Registration period: August 05 to August 22, 2025)

The oral test is a mandatory part of the DSH. It takes place a few days after the written test.

Please note: The dates are aligned to the deadlines for submission of the certificates at the LMU Munich. At other universities the deadlines may vary.

HOW TO REGISTER

1. Fill out the registration form either online or in our office.

2. Please pay the examination fee either by bank transfer or directly in our office within one week after submitting the registration form.
Your registration is only valid if the fully-completed registration form and the examination fee are received by Deutschkurse.

3. Once the registration form and the examination fee has been received, you will receive further information about your exam. Please note that processing can take up to one week after a bank transfer has been made.
Please note further that places are limited. It may be that there are no more places available before the payment deadline. We therefore recommend early registration and payment of the examination fee.
